Conceptualized and established back in 1998, Vanitas Collections was Rishab's dream to offer ethnic, nomadic, organic textiles from and around the bordering territories of India. Rishab sourced hand woven textiles from Manipur, Sikkim, Pochampalli,Bhutan, Meghalaya etc.
Vanitas Collections is now an independent, creative, forward thinking design studio with an irregular twist, aiming to push the boundaries of ethical, sustainable design by using reclaimed materials, mostly waste.
It is a design solution to an environmental problem and aims to reduce the environmental impact of waste, by taking corporate social responsibility seriously. The venture is a creative approach to domestic waste that requires creativity without any industrial intervention and it is an innovative, design-led and inherently environmentally friendly solution .
Note from the Artist:Today’s art and design industry is increasingly overproducing products. Whatever is being thrown away, disowned, old, worn out, is often beautiful for me. I can approach such materials in a creative way.I consider most disowned objects as unique. For me, every piece has its own, every object deserves to be considered for its liberty. Wood, Bone, Metal ,Textile, China etc., my expressions take many forms. Your need may require one or many. I take the time to consider your space and needs and craft an innovative bespoke design that is all you.
